Hello
If the GV Storm 3G Elite hardware (supported in Edius 9 which I have on the same PC) isn't supported in X, then the driver/code should be removed from X.
If a trace is run (we did that with Edius.net support) it is possible to see all the occasions Edius X is looking at the hardware when it starts up and indeed the hardware is initialised during loading Edius X, (all the lights come on) and again it is addressed when exiting the system setup menu (as hardware settings are part of that menu).
The effect is it makes the Edius X start up time much longer than it needs to be as well as the exit from the system settings menu.
Unless people have a GV Storm 3G Elite connected they wouldn't notice it but I have, and I use it with Edius 9 to control the SD VCR decks in the rack.
This is very messy in software coding terms and needs tidying up, the Storm 3G Elite is either included or excluded not the half way house that we have now.
Can that be requested to be sorted out?
Mike
