What is the frame rate of the clip(s) you are testing? Could that be a part of the judder you are seeing? Unless they are 50/60p, you are probably seeing frame rate related judder with a horizontal pan from a fixed position.

What type of cooling are you using?
Do you have any type of overclock on the system?
What is your PSU wattage and rating(Bronze, gold, etc)?

Do you see the same issues when scrubbing in a 1080 60p project?

Are you viewing the scrub process on a computer monitor or by way of a dedicated I/O card out to a UHD TV/ monitor?

Not sure if you saw this comment: https://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/...928#post575928 where the issue is only when using the mouse, not with other methods of scrubbing through the footage.

On an i9 12900k I found that Gaussian blur crashed Edius X and I had to turn off the E-Cores in the bios to stop that.

Also I found that New Blue Fx were much more stable when hyper threading was turned off and it made no difference to Edius playback performance on my multi-core Xeon PC.

Scrubbing XAVCI UHD 50p on my laptop is very good with the mouse it just won't handle UHD 50p HEVC except in proxy mode.

I have noticed that with the primary monitor set to the iGPU motherboard socket the REC window is not smooth playback on a camera pan on an i9-12900k but swapping the monitors over in Windows and cables physically so the left hand monitor with the task bar is connected to the PCIE NVidia Graphics card and set to primary monitor gives a smooth result in the REC window.

But what does it mean? If I do not have two monitors I am forced to use EDIUS X without QuickSync at all? I am just awaiting new PC to come with i9 13th gen to come and reading all these comments makes me worry if I even have the program itself working properly not to mention QuickSync doing its regular job and speeding up the render process...

My understanding was that termination of the igpu was not necessary on later generations of intel cpus. You may well be OK.
