  • Xplode Pro 4.60 and new driver RADEON X1950XT: realtime isn't ready yet.

Hi, I use Edius 4.6 with Xplode 4.6 and SAPPHIRE RADEON X1950XT 256MB GDDR3 for my HDV projects.
In the past time I never had realtime, only some transitions. Yesterday I did nurture false hopes.
Infact I have installed the latest driver of videocard v.8.3 but I havn't realtime again.
I have added D3D7ATI.DLL in Stage folder but I have not realtime again..
I have configured Xplode in the right way. Are there guys don't work in realtime with my same videocard? Could I live on hope?
    thanks

    This is my hardware config:

    Motherboard: P5W HD DELUXE
    MICROP. CONROE E6600 2,40GHz FSB 1066 4MB cache LGA775
    Videocard: SAPPHIRE RADEON X1950XT 256MB GDDR3
    RAM: 3 GB KINGSTON DDR800
    HDs: RAID 0

I have just forgotten to tell you if I configure Xplode with D3D7ATI.DLL et. etc.
on the timeline when the cursor pass on the transition I see a green screening only. I don't see any transition.

Sure I have done what you have written. I have manually added D3D7ATI.DLL in Stage folder, then in Xplodeconfig I have selected ATI renderer but it dosn't work. Perhaps have I to configure other things? I see a green screning only for the whole period of the transition. I don't see the transitions.

            The previous doesn't work too.

                  HDs: RAID 0

You will NOT get RT in HD projects. You will get RT with DV files in an SD timeline preset.

                  Try this.
Uninstall Xplode 4.6 and the renderers.
Completely uninstall all of the drives for the card
Uninstall the card in hardware device manager
Turn off the computer a let it set for 30sec to 1 minute
                  Restart the computer
Install the drivers that shipped with the card.
                  Reboot
Install Xplode 4.6, ati renderers, and patch.
                  reboot.
                  Set up the ati renderer.
                  Start Edius
Choose SD timeline, put 2 dv files on the timeline, apply xplode pro effect

I think that should give you a fresh start.

Try reinstallin Xplode, but when the option window comes up, choose 'modify', that should solve the green screen issue.....well, it had solved mine when I had a similar problem......if it dont work, then do a compplete reinstall of xplode

Sure if I use DV files in an SD timeline preset I always get RT. My problem is in HD project only. Bu I have noticed many guys use HD projects in RT.

                        Well,
Those are the very lucky ones.
I would contact those posters personally to find out how they did it and what card and motherboard they are using. If you are getting the blue line above the timeline in SD, consider yourself lucky as well. Xplode was not designed as an RT effects package.

RT means different things to different people. If it is true RT, you will get a blue line above the timeline. In HD, the best I can get on any of my cards is the red line and play through without buffer prefill. (This depends on the effect and length as well) This means that the effect has to be rendered for smooth playback.
I would concentrate on making the best product possible and not worrying about RT with Xplode.
If I get it, great! If not, great!
Since I work in 1920x1080 uncompressed alot of the time, RT went bye bye long ago.
Good luck in finding the pot of gold.
