  • Edius 9 slow at loading

It has been this way for a long time - but I did not worry about it: just waited.

Now, when I have a moment to spare, if someone else who may have a moment to spare would be so kind as to examine the attached system report and see if there is anything that I could (or should) do to avoid the long load time.

I see lots of EDIUS X render worker crashes in relation to vistitle, did you have X trial version installed?
I also only find an EDIUS 8 WG serial, is this a serial that included free upgrade to 9?
Are your projects and clips stored on fixed internal drives or are you using the ethernet connected NAS that I see

Thank you for taking the trouble to examine my System Report.

I bought the upgrade to Edius X but after a time I removed Edius X completely (to the best of my knowledge).

My Edius 9 Workgroup was a paid upgrade from Edius 8 Workgroup.

I do have an Edius 9 serial and, if I remember correctly, I had to enter both of them.

All my projects are stored on internal SSDs; the system drive is also SSD.

I do wonder if, on launch, Edius is trying to waken the NAS drives as they always go to sleep if they are not being accessed.

I also wonder if uninstalling Edius 9 and reinstalling it would help.

Edius 8 has been uninstalled but there is still an Edius 8 subfolder in Program Files/Grass Valley.

can you make a screenshot of License Manager, License List

I would disconnect the NAS and see if EDIUS starts faster

that looks fine except for the double 8 license but this is not an issue with slow start

              can you empty appdata/local/Temp

then make another system report and attach here, your previous report is hard to read because it covers EDIUS8, 9 and X, once the Temp is cleared, I should only see 9 in the report

                Thank you for your patience/perseverence.

I have attached the new System Report.

Loading time after cleaning the Temp folder was about 2 seconds. Much faster.

I shall make a desktop shortcut to clean out the Temp folder on demand.

yes, I had a feeling your Temp folder had too much in it

to create a proper shortcut to Temp

right click desktop, click new shortcut, type: %Temp% and click ok, done
