  • Logo clip with alpha in Edius 8.54

    Hi all,

I already done the same several times years ago but now I think I'm missing something...

I have a new transparent PNG logo i use for my video. Instead of adding the logo via quicktitler, resize, position every time, I want to create a UHD transparent 1 minute clip with my logo ready to use.
It works only exporting in AVI HQX with Alpha. No way to export a transparent MOV clip in QT HQX with Alpha. But all my previous created logo clips are MOV files and I've always used 8.54.
    What I'm missing?

    Thanks

      Ouch! No.
i thought was not required anymore with Edius 8.54.
Edius successfully create a MOV file but no transparency inside.

after installing QT Player, you will also need to enable it in system settings and then restart EDIUS

Installed QT (even if the lastest version is 7.7.9 of 2014 and Apple and MS suggest to not use it anymore...) and no good news. Generated .mov file is not transparent.
Now I have another problem too: a friend of mine gave me two clips .mov made with Resolve (a couple of titles) and in Edius I see no transparency.

            I'm lost.

                I saw this thread:

                https://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/...alpha-channels

Is GV HQX the only codec which works form Resolve?

Here we are for my settings (AVI HQX works):

you can export Quicktime 4:4:4 from EDIUS which has alpha but I don't remember if EDIUS8 had that option, I know EDIUS9 and X do

These are my options and even if I havent 4:4:4 I see several options with Alfa which none works.

Ok if you have Resolve why not create the movie there in a format that Resolve is happy with if you don't want to use HQX?

You can export an image sequence with alpha from EDIUS. set in and out choose still image exporter, Under other. Select change video format and then go to channel en select color + alpha and export export.

In resolve import the still image sequence.
