  • Dummy Effects

Hey guys. In my 2 3/4 hour timeline, ready to print to BluRay, as I click "Burn to Disc" I get a popup stating "In your target range there are Dummy Effects....etc." I've gone through the timeline twice, examining every shot to which an effect was placed, and cannot find where the "Dummy Effect" is. I've had this experience before, and quickly located an effect that said "Dummy Effect" - but not this time. I've got perhaps 600-700 shots total with maybe 100 having an Effect applied (including music cues). Is there a quick, or more efficient way to find where that Dummy Effect might be on the timeline?
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks John - I'll look at it first thing in the morning. Nurse here about 11. I'll call you soon thereafter. And Anton, thanks for the comeback. Nothing else is loaded in the burner. All entires brand new. That's why it's strange. But I'll wait to see what David's video says!

EDIUS manager will tell you what effect is missing but won't tell you where it is. I have had this message turn up when the missing effect is on a clips which is disabled or which is not visible as it is obscured by another clip. In EDIUS X a clip with a dummy effect has a dark grey line on the top of it but it is quite hard to see.

Anton - thanks! Following David's post I did find one grey bar above a music cue to which a reverb was already attached. Evidentally I tried more than one reverb on this cue, and somehow I left both reverbs on it, one somehow turned into the "dummy". I just eliminated it, and that was that. All is well, and thanks for the help.
