  • Need Win 10 codec for Canopus DV codec

My Win XP PC died, I bought a new Win 10 PC, none of my old software loads. First issue is I have a bunch of avi video files made with the canopus DV Rex capture card and software. I don't think that software will run on Win 10. If I could find a canopus DV codec which runs under Win 10, then I can play my avi files. This does not work: https://www.videohelp.com/software/Canopus-DV-Codec. There are several sites which have that same codec and it just doesn't work. I actually have the original file from way back when I was using the canopus gear. If I can't solve this, then the second issue is irrelevant. Second issue is I have made video clips in Premiere 6.5 using those same avi files. Will EDIUS import Premiere 6.5 projects? My ultimate goal is to re-render my Premiere video clips into a modern codec. This represents thousands of hours of work so I don't want to start over (i.e., capture the video from my old Sony camcorder via Firewire and rebuild the clips in a new software suite). I haven't had a lot of success trying a Virtual machine and I'm reluctant to buy a Win XP PC. Any suggestions? If this is not the right forum to post to, please point me to the correct one. Most searches for the Canopus codec seem to point here (grassvalley). Thanks.
