  • Default transition question

Hey there. Was wondering if there's a way to drop a lower third title graphic onto the timeline (top layer) and have it fade-in and fade-out automatically without having to go to the FX bin to grab the 2D dissolve? If not, is there a faster way to accomplish adding the fade-in/outs than going to the FX bin? It's not a transition between clips that I'm using the dissolve on.

    Thanks!

You can add the fade in and fade out buttons to your timeline tool bar and/or map those fades to keyboard shortcuts. The fades will apply from the play head to the end of the clip.

ifor example, to make a one second fade in, snap to the start of the clip, hit +100 in the number pad and then pres enter to advance 1 second and 0 frames, then press the fade in button or the keyboard shortcut that you map. (I have mine mapped for ctrl D for a fade in, and alt D for a fade out.)

Click the keyer track of the title clip and drag the dissolve to the info panel, your title will now have fade in and out in one hit
