  • Error message: GV license manager is not current

I keep getting this message when I try to start Edius 9. I have to uninstall Edius and the GV lincense manager, turn off all Virus programs and re-install Edius. This has happened about four times in the last two weeks. What is going on?
Edius 8 Workgroup, Intel 3770K, Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard, 32GB DDR3 1600 ram, SSD for C, external Raid box with WE RE4 1TB drives Raid 0 for video assets. Overclocked 4.3ghz, Asus GTX 660 ti, water cooled system. Windows 10 Professional 64bit

Your message says Edius 9, your signature says Edius 8 WG.

If you are in Edius 9, is it Pro or WG, WG does not require periodic check in with the license server but Pro does. The checkin to validate the license may be the source of the error if the license manger is indeed a version or two behind. Make sure you have the most recent version of your Edius installed. The licence manager gets updated periodically with Edius updates.

I am on the most recent Edius 9 WG build and never see that message.
Edius WG 9.55.7761, various 3rd party plugins, VisTitle 2.9.6.0, Win 7 Ultimate SP1, i7-4790K @ 4GHz with HD4600 GPU embedded, MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, 32GB Kingston HyperX RAM, nVidia GTX680 4GB GPU, Matrox MX02 Mini MAX, Corsair 750W PSU, Corsair H110i GT Water Cooler, Corsair C70 case, 8TB Internal RAID 0/stripe (2x4TB Seagate SATAIII HDD's, Win7 Software stripe), 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD, Pioneer BDR-207D, Dual 1920x1080 monitors (one on GTX680 and one on Intel HD4600).

I have the latest version of 9WG which I would think includes the latest license manager. If not how can I get the latest license manager?

in control panel, uninstall EDIUS, do not deactivate
then uninstall Mync, do not deactivate
          then uninstall GV license manager
          then reboot
          then install 9.55
          then send me the wine

The version I have installed is 9.55.7761 On the updates page for me that is the latest version. Is there one newer than that one?

9.55.7761 is the version I am running without issue. Are you disabling the virus scanner when installing? Do you have all the requisite GV folders excluded from the virus scanner (The GV folders in Program Files, AppData, and Program Data)?

that is the version I have and it does not complain about LM. Is yours Pro or WG?

                        uninstall EDIUS and deactivate
uninstall Mync (no need to deactivate as it is already)
uninstall Grass Valley License Manager, make sure there are not two, if so, uninstall both
delete anything that starts with GV in the FLEXnet folder of Program Data
                        restart PC
                        empty appdata/local/Temp
                        install EDIUS and activate

I did a complete uninstall. I even went into the registry and deleted everything Edius related. I followed the instructions for a new install several times. I can start Edius if I close it down and restart right away. If I wait and come back after a few hours I get the message again that I don't have the latest license manager. Attached is a grab of the message box.

I can only think that you may have a corrupt download that has the wrong LM
If the below fails, can you show me screenshots of all programs installed in cpanel, uninstall programs (alphabetical order)

                            Can you try this download

also, open EDIUS and in help menu, generate a system report, then attach it here, I will be able to see the LM version you have
