  • Edius and Windows 11

    Hello everyone.

I was wondering if there had been any discussion on how Edius works with Windows 11? I recently had one of our users accidentally upgrade one of our laptops to 11 and I scrambled to get it rolled back because I wasn't sure how Edius would work with it. We currently have Workgroup 8.53. I'm not even sure if there would have been an issue at all, but I didn't want to leave it to chance and miss the timeframe that I could roll back to 10 (apparently it's 10 days from the installation of 11 that you can roll back to Windows 10). Has anyone encountered any issues with any versions of Edius and the new version of Windows?

    Thanks in advance.

Edius X is the only Edius version approved for Win 11.

You can roll back from W11 anytime. Just make sure you have a system image of your W10 setup. The built in Windows backup & restore (relic of W7) is more than adequate.

From everywhere I've seen, the only way to roll back after the 10 day period is to perform a clean install.

The Black Magic Design Ultra Studio Mini Monitor Thunderbolt does not work with Edius X, on a Z690 MB with Thunderbolt 4 embedded and Win 11.

The latest BMD Desktop Video app 12.2.2 is the first one that mentions Win 11 and it can't see the Mini Monitor, Windows 11 has allocated its own driver to it, which is wrong.

The Mini Monitor TB light comes on when plugged into a Mac but not to the ASUS MB.

However the string of dongles: Apple Thunderbolt 3 > Thunderbolt 2 > Firewire 800 > Firewire 400 does work on the same Thunderbolt port and DV/HDV capture is possible.

Sonnet Thunderbolt to PCIE expansion chassis works on Windows 10 but not on Windows 11, Sonnet currently working it out in collaboration with Microsoft.

            And the guilty party is?
