  • 10.30: No waveform in nested sequences of 10.21-projects

    Hi:
    1) I am working with the current version-1030. For newly created projects, the audio waveform is displayed in nested sequences. OK as far as it goes.
    2) When I call a project created with version-10.21, no audio waveform is displayed in nested sequences.

What do I have to do ???
Note: In Defender I have excluded/allowed the corresponding folders/files. My WIN version is 21H2.

Have you tried editing something inside the nested container or perhaps re-creating the nested timeline as a test? I don't have Edius X to try, but it may be possible that the waveform cache file is made when the nest is created or edited, not when it is simply loaded on a timeline.

      Yes, didn't help.
But I will give that another try.

        known issue

to solve, double click the nested sequence and then return to it, the waveform may appear then

          1) Thanks Anton, that seems to work. I did not have the problem in all 10.21 projects.

          2) Now I have only one open problem with the 10.30 version:
          - The marker display in nested sequences (display markers from a "sub-sequence" in the corresponding "top sequence") only works when I create a new project in 10.30.
          - It does not work for any 10.21 projects that I call in 10.30.
I have no idea what other creative ideas I should test.
// PS: Exporting under 10.30 works for me.

I have found the error !!!! // mea culpa - sorry!
I found in Settings > Sequence Settings the checkboxes for the markers not set.
If this now works for all my 10.21-projects, then the 10.30-version works (almost) perfectly for me (sometimes the window asking for a login still pops up - ignore it helps there).

              Thanks for the hint.
// This problem cost me two weeks (!) of searching. And this only because this new function did not have a short description anywhere. Anyway, I can't find anything about it in my manual. I have been waiting for this feature for over 10 years (since I switched from Premiere Pro to Edius).
Well, now this feature finally exists. One have to be thankful.
