You could aaf your edius timeline to the free version of resolve, set up the burns in resolve and then export from there.

    Thank you Steve.
    Nice idea.
Unfortunately I'm a home user with limited budget and I never considered to buy Vistitle.
it's a shame that a pro video editor doesn't have such a simple feature while there are tons of option for timecode.
I hope GV developers will take this feature in account in the future. Just another item in the user setting display Dropbox men├╣.

    Thanks

Not really. You can do this but it wil require a bit of work.
    Requirements Vistitle, EDIUS and notepad.

First drag select all clips on the the timeline and drag to a new folder in the bin.

2 select the folder, right click and choose export HTML

3 Use the information in the HTML to create a single line file txt for Vistitle subtitle. clipname will be the Subtitle,

    4 Open vistitle and import

5 add subs text to to timeline as you normally would (this is a bit of work but can go very fast)

    6 export.

This is just an idea. It is not perfect but at least you have an option.
You can also work with in and out markers for each clip to get the timeline position and duration. if you do that you can add this information to the single line file. Then Vistitle will position the subs at correct TimeLine position.

EDIUS does not have the option to print the clip name. I think NewBlue might have a plugin that does this but I am not sure.

Just to be clear. A friend of mine shares his preview from Resolve with these info.
On Edius I found timecodes only, not source clip name.

  • Edius 8: printing clips filename on exported file

    Hi all,

From the Print to file windows I see I can burn timecodes on the exported file.
How I print the source clip name on the exported mp4 file?

    Thank you in advance
