Izotope Elements

Hi guys,

Something new in EDIUS X. I've installed Izotope Elements RX onto the computer, and copied the 2 .dll files into the Plugins VST2 EDIUS folder, and yet RX doesn't show up in the FX panel, so cannot use. What am I doing incorrectly?

I’m not using it myself, but if the installer installed both vst and vst2 plug-ins, and possible even vst3, you may have copied the vst or vst3 ones instead of the vst2 plugins. Edius requires vst2.

I personally prefer to copy the vst files to the Edius vst folder so I don’t expose it to plugins that don’t work in Edius and may cause it to not run or crash. This may have been more of an issue with versions prior to Edius X and the increased plugin support it supposedly has, but since I am not running it I can’t say for sure.

most vst are now supported in X and the delay compensation kicks in, so you will never have out of lip sync issues

remember soundsoap? it caused almost a second of delay

Use the method that Anton outlined for Edius X. The vst bridge works quite well.
Besides, this way the vst's will be available to other programs.

Thanks guys. Everything works now. Been a long time since I added VST programs, so I forgot how! And Anton - do remember Soundsoap very well. And the pain of having to "lip sync" the new tracks. Took a keen eye and good hearing!
