Best EDIUS X Project Settings When Editing Multiple Formats on the TL

I'm producing a Retro video where the raw footage spans more than 10 years. This means that some will be SD 4:3, 16:9; and Full HD. Most of the older footage was shot with professional Sony DVCAM gear and later Sony XDCAM. The present day footage is usually 1920 x1080 mp4 or Pro Res in some cases.

I just want to started in the right format and Codec settings

you would start a 1920x1080 project

add 20%sharpness filter to any SD clip and make sure Lanczos3 HQ is enabled in project settings for better scaling quality

Thanks for the quick response Anton. Your answer brought up and additional question that I never researched an answer for. When or where, do the settings for the Render Format and Resample Method take place? ( please see my settings) Should we save each older file with these setting before proceeding or not. in addition, if I need to send this project or parts completed to another one of the editors for completion; what would be the best approach? the render format is not important unless your PC is under powered and you need to render in order to play the timeline

I would set it to HQ Fine instead of Standard, and for UHD projects I would set it to HQX Fine or Super Fine

I notice you are making a progressive project, are most clips progressive or interlaced?

Most of the files are progressive. Some older may have been in interlace.
