Use OHCI out to a camera or deck that is connected to a monitor or TV

Of course, this applies to DV projects only...

...and the lag might also make you go crazy, so an NX is recommended. In that case you also get component out (SD&HD). And if you have old VHS tapes it also has SVideo in.

If your video card has an HD output you can have a realtime out to monitor.
This is not a great solution, but, it works.

What is OHCI, Please I'm newbie !!!

Is OHCI a Composite Output on VGA card interface ? If I only have a VGA card like ATI X800, where can I connect to TV. Please, I'm newbie !

"OHCI" here is referring to a FireWire port, which via a FireWire cable, can be connected to a DV camera or D-to-A video converter. This then can be hooked up to an analog monitor. But it will only provide video preview of DV-based projects.

To use a graphics card, you must first have a graphics card that supports TV-output, either by DVI, composite, S-Video or component. Then you also need to use "overlay mirroring" out to that secondary output to the monitor.

I'm not sure what terminology is used with ATI Catalyst drivers, but this is essentially what you're looking to do.
