Hey Anton - that's the face I miss! Great shot. I just wish I had your hair! Stay well, my friend. We have much time to have fun after this pandemic is over - and I hope to see you again, hopefully next year.

2. if you follow step1, you won't lose anything
3. yes, you install EDIUS X and then the Bonus software like Acon audio plugins and Vitascene 4 and DVD Menu templates if needed. I would not install OFX Bridge2 or Newblue until they are improved

So in the EDIUS "plugins" folders, compare both the 9 and X effects and VST effects listed there, and anything missing from 9 to X, just copy them over to the X "plugins" folders. 9 and X both run on my editor with no problems at all. Good luck!

There is not an official page I know of- and of course no one likes to write a list of "this has been removed" for a new product without list the things that have been added. What I can rememer is- Render and add to time is back in 10.1
- I don't have audio waveform problems and I think a small bug was just fixed.
- DV Capture, use of Quicktime for windows (but has native support built in for QT files), Disc capture (ability to rip video off DVDs, blu-rays and audio CDs) After Effects bridge and Support for Matrox and some older cards - all removed.

Could someone also state clearly what is missing or does not yet work correctly in X. The AE bridge no longer exists, has Render to Timeline been restored in the latest version, does waveform creation work as it should? Do you need updated versions of plug ins to run on X?
It would be REALLY helpful to havet an updated sticky which explains current losses and gains when migrating from 9 to X ...it would really help people out, currently users are asking the same questions over and over.
Paul :-)

Perhaps the major benefit of having Edius 9 and X on the same same system is that if you have any analog capture hardware, you can capture with 9, and edit in X. This is because many of the compatible analog hardware capture options ended with Edius 9.

you will lose all effects if you don't copy the third party plugins or VST you may have from 9 to X, so compare your plugins before opening any 9 projects

Edius 9 and X on the same machine
If this has been posted before I apologize. Is it possible to have both versions on the same computer? If so what is the best way to install X? I just downloaded the latest version. Will I lose any effects or projects from version 9?Tags: None
