                  ok thanks a lot. i'm sorry to ditch edius, it's a software that works well and i've always felt good, fast and works with native 4k files, apart from the slow rendering issue on ediusx, however i will get used to working without rendering every time i put a clip in timeline. thanks bye.

                      set the buffer to about 2GB and 10 frames

                      then play timeline and if it climbs to its max value, you don't need to render, see attached video
