more information might help. full edius version, windows 10 version, any description of what is happening, and on screen error or edius error report. Have you tried a reboot of the computer, or better yet a full power off, remove the power plug and wait for 30 minutes. have you manually ran widows update until there are no updates left to perform?

It's hard to tell you what the problem is with no information other than saying "it's broke"

what is the name of the antivirus program?

what do you see in taskmanager, apps tab as you double click the EDIUS9 icon

I don't think you can have E8, 9 and X on the same C drive, 9 and X are fine

                  Hello Anton,

I don't use Edius 8 anymore. But until last week , both E9 and E10 worked. Now E9 does nothing.
                  Name of antivirussoftware is F-Secure.

When I mentioned versions, I meant what are the full version numbers, not do you have a full version. Please manually run your windows update procedure until there are no updates left to perform. Others on here have reported that this is sometimes the case with Windows 10 where updates are not completely applied and can cause problems.

I also asked if you rebooted, I have seen many people complain of a problem but a simple reboot fixes it, as people often have a tendency to leave the computer running for long periods of time, sometimes for weeks between reboots. Sleeping and hibernating are not the same as a power off or reboot.

Windows 10 has taken several updates and complete shut downs to run well on two of my PC's. As BernH has said a complete shutdown and I have also removed power cord a few times in the past too to make sure there is no power on the unit and it really has to boot completely. I think on my main editor WIn10 20H2 took 4 updates to complete.

Maybe you can try the following: uninstall version 8 , Reinstall the latest version of 9 and then Install the latest version of EDIUS X.
