An example for my workflow. I shoot with GH5 internally and to a Ninja V ( ProRes ). I edit multicam from the Ninja files with the GH5 files also on the timeline but on mute for the edit. I then reuse the SSD's from the Ninja V after I have finished and exported so they will always then be offline if for any reason I need to go back and re do the edit for any strange reason from the archived GH5 files. If I load the project again and mute the Pro Res tracks rather than the GH5 tracks the project works but on export get the offline clips warning even if they are not used. I now just create another project and delete the ProRes tracks. Would obviously like the warning if the clips are supposed to be used but if they are not used I could care less and so should EDIUS. I think the warning should be specific to if the clips are missing from the defined export only. It is up to the user to decide what is used and if what is missing is important. If a user mutes a track it is up to them if it was really important not EDIUS.

I like to bounce stuff from one drive to another ... still working from spindle drives (no SSD) ... makes reading an writing go faster.

I personally never have a project with offline clips

all clips used or not used are in a folder called Clips inside the project folder

this also makes backup simple, just copy one folder to an external backup Raid5, done

At that I better not remove my temp files from the time line unless it also delete the channel they are on ...

unfortunately, you need to click ok a 100 times if there are a 100 batches

or you could open the project in EDIUS 9 and use its batch exporter

I use my Batch Exporter list with all my In's and Out's (Ctr+Shift+Alt+S)

If there is a clip that is referenced to in the time line as place holder (Offline Line) I get the warning.

I would like to turn that warning off.

Maybe you should choose to export between the In and Out points?

  • is there a way to suppress the Offline Clip warning prompt during an export

In my workflow I export many small files, and build the export in a way where I reuse the timeline and over again. Over time I delete or move source files, but keep them in the timeline. With this new Edius X exporter it now prompts me for each and every clip when setting up an export. It used to do it only once. So with 52 clips I need to keep clicking "Continue" to finish that export. (Not very user friendly.)

Is there a way to suppress that warning?
Working...
