Howdy folks! It's been a long, long time. I'm an ancient Edius user who is very, very rusty. My business slowed way down a while back but I still have my equipment and my Edius 7.53.10 software (I really miss working and working in Edius!).
Anyway... I am trying to help my wife with a talking head video that she needs to do. I have shot the video on a tripod using the camera of my Android phone and overall, it looks remarkably good. But I think I have screwed up the camera work because there are a couple of problems and I will need to re-shoot it I think. I figured the folks here could confirm my suspicions or point me to some Edius methods of making it better.
1. The phone video is upside down. When I brought the MP4 clip into Edius, the video is flipped vertically and horizontally. I used the 'Mirror' video effect to return the video to normal. I assume this is the best way to do this?
2. As the video plays on the timeline, the video size (zoom level?) seems to change slightly throughout the video. This annoying factor kills the video. Instead of the video being locked down and un-changing in size, it is constantly zooming in or out very slightly. I'm assuming this is a product of the auto-focus of the camera not being turned off when shooting? Is there any other way to fix this in Edius without re-shooting?
3. As the video plays on the timeline, the lighting changes slightly throughout. It is near windows and it is bright and sunny outside and trees are moving during the video. I'm assuming that the automatic white balance setting of the camera is causing this changing and that I will need to re-shoot? Don't suppose there is any way in Edius to fix this problem.
Thanks for any ideas!
