  • EDIUS X Rendering - PLEASE!

I don't know where to post this, but have a HUGE request pertaining to EDIUS X. Rendering does not go to timeline, as in all previous versions. PLEASE - put that back, for putting the rendered section on a V track was so easy to see, manage, move, apply effects to, etc. Now - even though the color might change to the rendered section, it's hard to find, verify and control. Just my humble opinion, but would sure like a large crew of followers to get on board to Grass Valley about this feature returning. Even auto apply the render to the bin would be a giant leap for mankind!
    Many thanks everyone.

You can put the render in the bin by right clicking on it in the job manager.

Hey Lou - I do know that, thanks! But that's an extra 2 steps, first opening the job manager, clicking on it, going to the bin and then from there putting the render back onto the timeline and syncing it there. Before it was all done automatically. Having to render on many clips with multiple effects or titles can eat up one hell of a lot of pure editing time. EDIUS has always been one of the most efficient NLE's. Seems some times we're going backwards. But thanks for the post!

Yes, not the best solution. Let's hope control+Q makes a re-appearance at some point.

Who ever, or is it whomever? in product development decided to remove this function has obviously never had to use Edius for editing or they would know better than to trash a key feature...it's beyond comprehension...like the refusal to add audio waveforms to an audio file in preview...stunning failure to understand the process.

It has been posted before - Render And Add To Timeline - post.
I'm with you, I'm editing now in Edius 9 just because of that feature alone. Not being able to see clips on bigger timeline too just adds up.
Render and add function retains clip quality on project setting level (I'm using HQX superfine lanczos 3 Hi quality in project settings) and it saves rendered clips to project folder. Rendering manually to project folder or somewhere else and copy it back to project folder and adding back to bin is a hassle, I got extra ssd just for render destination exports in certain render quality for final videos (that's way below HQX superfine quality) and I don't wanna change that destination or render quality back and forth just to simulate "render and add to timeline", it's a loss of time.
                GV please, bring it back!

Render and Add to Timeline has been brought to the attention of the developers previously. Due to the writing of this version, it had to be left out. How to add this back is currently being at.
