  • Titler Pro 7 Ultimate

When using Titler Pro 7 Ultimate which I upgraded from Titler Pro 4, I cannot get any real time playback in Edius X. The Titler Pro 7 that comes with Edius X works real time, I contacted Newblue, but still waiting for a reply a few days now. Vistitle works in real time always, but the company does not make new templates like Newblue does.

Don't assume different titlers from different companies will operate the same. EDIUS designed Quicktitler so if makes sense that it should operate perfectly in realtime. Vistitle was designed for EDIUS by a third party, so it also works well. The rest of the titles were not designed for EDIUS so their realtime performance will vary depending on the Titles and your computer.

Grassvalley should encourage the Vistitle company to make templates similar like Newblue, there has not been anything new from Vistitle in years. The Titler Pro before would render itself before going to the timeline in versions before, I don't know what is going on. Now Newblue has made a special real time version 7 for Edius X.

Let me put it this way. I would rather have a completely new version of Vistitle with new features and a new 'engine' to allow these new features, than them just creating templates.
What is stopping you from making the templates yourself. If you rely on NB or Videostar to create your templates, you are going to be beholding to those companies to provide you with templates.

All I can say is, if you like Vistitle, you should learn how to actually use Vistitle, not just use it to change things in a template.

I posted 5 free Vistitle templates, that I made, in this thread: https://forum.grassvalley.com/forum/...itle-templates

These 5 templates took me very little time to create.

Did you buy Ultimate as an upgrade from your included Titler Pro 7 EDIUS X license? There is a special upgrade price for EDIUS X users . Maybe, although unlikely, the special upgrade to Ultimate is a different version and will work better?

I was always ask to upgrade by Newblue emails from Titler Pro 4, which I bought years ago. That upgrade is what I used to upgrade to Ultimate, Ultimate has more templates. In other Edius programs before a render would happen before the title goes on the timeline, so it played back real time like Vistitle, but that is no more.

for some reason, when adding complex titles to timeline, NB spends forever on showing a preparing title message as if it is rendering it, but it only makes a cache and it may not play in realtime once it finally finishes

That happens to me also, Newblue Tech support got back to me today and sent me instructions to remove the software and install a beta version 201016 it still does not work real time plus the cache message.

Anton, that particular template uses a lot of resources. Your screen shot shows you are on the Edius timeline. Was the title fully rendered within the TP7 interface before you returned to Edius?
Both you and Oswald have far more powerful systems than I have. The only difference I have is 11GB of VRAM on my 1080ti.
The more complicated the title, the more VRAM is required.

Watch the video. This is the same process I have done since NB moved to the green circle render indicator.
I will say that the TP7 for Edius X version works far better than the TP7 Ultimate Edition in 9.52 ever did, at least as far as getting
                  real time playback.

Also, Camtasia 2018 was running and using system resources during the recording of the video. Project was 1920x1080 29.97p 10bit.

I've played with that template and if you let it fully render on the timeline so that message goes away it may not playback in real time and if you render it using Edius it may not even render and even if it indicates that it rendered it still may not playback in real time and if you exit Edius and then re-open the project the render may be gone. There are still some serious issues here that need to be addressed.

                      I can confirm this

and because the render keeps breaking, what we really need back urgently is Shift+Q render and add to timeline

I was testing this on my Office PC which may not be as powerful as yours :)

No, I did not wait for it to render in NB

If the file is rendered within the TP7 interface and your system is capable of playing the title in real time at the resolution and frame rate chosen, then it should retain real time functionality after reboot.

                          I can do 1080 29.97p 10bit all day long.
When I up the frame rate to 59.94p, a render is required. With the state of rendering on .nbtitles the way it is, I can't get real time playback without doing an export.

The render should work the same as it does on Vistitle files. The header turns green and the actual title gets a green header.
