    Was I scammed on upgrade?

I had read that buying Edius 9 after a certain date would allow for a free upgrade to Edius X. On February 24, 2020 I purchased an upgrade from Edius 8 to Edius 9 from Share-it - Digital River, Inc.10380 Bren Road West, Minnetonka, MN. I downloaded Edius X recently and when I tried to register it, it didn't seem to take the upgrade from Edius 9. I contacted Edius support this morning and they told me they had no idea of any upgrade promo from Edius 9. Just wondering, was I scammed? Not sure what is going on as I made no copies of the website touting the upgrade from purchasing 9 at a certain date. Any clarifications?

Users who purchase(d) EDIUS Pro 9 or EDIUS Workgroup 9 (excluding Educational and Home Edition versions) between September 13, 2019 and September 30, 2020 are eligible for a free license of EDIUS Pro 9 Plus or EDIUS Workgroup 9 Plus, which allow users to use both EDIUS Pro 9/Workgroup 9 and EDIUS X Pro version/Workgroup version

I'm not sure what's going on with the Edius X promotion or not a promotion? I got a reply from Edius which gave me an Edius 9 "Plus" serial number, which I ran the Edius X program with, with no problem. Then I wanted to move Edius X to a different computer, so I deactivated from my system. On the new computer when I went to run it I received an error message. After a ton of BS of uninstalling, reinstalling with firewall and virus protection off, I still received the same error message. At that point, I contacted Grass Valley Support. Guess what? They don't seem to have had the same information that buying Edius 9 during the promotion period gave me a free upgrade to Edius X. Here is what their reply was. At this point I'm not sure what to do about this conundrum. Can someone on this forum give me a clue as what to do next?

          "Hello Jason,

          I hope you are fine.

Thanks for contacting Grass Valley Technical Support and the information provided.

Let me tell you that the promotion is not for a free Edius X but an update to use several Edius 9 in a same PC.

I would recommend you visit the following lyncs for more information or contact your nearest reseller:

Or you can purchase EDIUS directly from the EDIUS online shop:
