EDIUS X GV Job Monitor problem repost!!

Dear fellow-editors,
Rendering files in my Edius X is no problem.
but a film friend meets wit problems with the same action in EDIUS X.
As soon as he gives the export command, the file to be rendered is visible in the job monitor window, but stays queued. so the file does NOT get rendered.
we can't find the setting to start the rendering process. so the files keep queueing without rendering. see picture (bt large :) )

With me it's the same.
The jobmonitor sees the jobs but thats all, it's loading, resuming, starting etc but that's it. The purple and yellow bars stay on the timeline
The funny thing is: when I restart quit Edius X and startup the project some time later all is rendered. And there's a green bar up the timeline.
I have windows defender running but allowed the edius X app in Defender.
I think I liked the old way of rendering in the background better...

I recently upgraded from9.x to version X and now are running into the same problem.
What in particular did you change in your antivirus settings causing the Eureka?
I'm a little reluctant to switch off the whole antivirus protection while editing...

you don't need to switch it off, just exclude the three GV folders
