I had all three working on my PC before I uninstalled EDIUS 8WG. They all worked fine though before I did that. I found though that I needed to keep my EDIUS 8 license as it was an upgrade from 8 to 9 and also 9 to X

The reason I asked is because I am very happy with Edius 8, but possibly want to upgrade to Edius X in the future. I also want to retain the option for Firewire capture, hence staying with version 8

I am not ready to purchase the Edius Plus offer by next week, so will probably go for an upgrade missing out version 9.

If I use Edius 8 to capture by Firewire, can I then open the project in Edius X?

I don't know that 8 had been really tested and I honestly would not want to do it. As mentioned in another post, it would be best to get version 9 if you still can which will give you X also, and use those versions.

            Hi Pat,

I agree that would be a good route, but I would have to buy Edius 9 by next week to qualify for the Edius X upgrade. I am not ready to spend that money right now.
