Why has my project produced 2841 (1.95gb) waveform cache files?

I've got 13 AVI clips on the timeline totalling 1 hr 52 mins. I can't see any waveforms on the timeline but Edius is constantly trying to produce waveform files.
I set the timeline up to produce an mpeg2 file overnight. 14 hours later no mpeg file but 2841 waveform cache files. The job monitor is showing it is producing waveform files with the mpeg at number 17 in the list. I've set priority to high. It started to produce the mpeg then stopped and went back to the waveform files. I have now manually cancelled all the waveform files and the mpeg has started again.

    Any reason for this?

    Hello,

I had the same problem but I couldn't find the approach that caused this condition.

Looking at this the thing we have in common is the source files are on the network.

                      I am not surprised

if I check the 4th box and transfer XDCAM HD clips from SONY SxS Pro card reader to EDIUS via source browser, the source browser freezes for 10 min or more, because EDIUS is generating waveforms from the SxS card via USB prior to even transferring clips, which takes forever

I reported that ages ago and it was never solved

the 3rd and 4th square are selected.
several clips on the TL but only one music that covers all the clips.
