  • Capturing from Firewire

How can I capture from my DVCAM Firewire deck, I cannot find any convertor or adapter from Firewire to HDMI, Edius X should capture from HDMI, I think. I have customers who bring work on tapes.

The cheapest option would be to have EDIUS 9 on the same system as EDIUS X . You ould use EDIUS 9 in the same manner as you did previously to capture.

Is there any option other than using EDIUS 9?

Edius 9 is the best option but there is a program called HDVSplit which is free and will allow you to capture via firewire to your hard drive. It's old but it does work if you just want a down and dirty transfer program.

Well try to find a firewire to HDMI ,SDI or YUV converter and couple that with a supported capture card. Or capture via BM Media express software with a BM capture card.
