12,000 render files...HELP!

Stay calm.
I have a very long doc that we have been working on since last year. No renders have ever been deleted. The Render folder is on a USB 2 external drive.

G: drive = 750 gigs
90% full
370 gigs of render files totaling 12,000

I'd like to delete some files to save space on this very, very full drive.

The options are "delete all" or "delete unused".
What defines "unused"?
How does Edius create, manage, save, and delete render files?
I know nothing.

Unused means it's no longer used in the project. Render files should be specific to the individual project unless you've saved or started one project in another project's existing folder.

Unused = any clips within the rendered folder that are not referenced on that timeline at that moment.

So basically, if you rendered something, and then deleted it or changed and rerendered, the original render file will be deleted (the source clip remains intact, of course).

In the BIN sort on the "Timeline Reference Count" column till all the clips with "0" appear at the top
Select the top one and then scroll down to the end of the "0" entries
Select the last one while holding the shift key (Select all)
Now right click and select "Delete Files" and they will be gone from the BIN and from the HARD DRIVE so be carefull
