Crooked image on video

So with edius 8 pro I edited a video in 1920x1080 24p, I had an image that was not level, it was practically crooked and then with F7 on edius 8 pro I straightened the image, and it came out fine, but then the result as you can see in the attachment it is not good, as shown by the red arrows on the sides you can see the deformed video outline, why?
where did I go wrong?

If you don't have a 'pin cushion' plugin, you could zoom the image. New Blue FX has an Image Mapper plugin in a small bundle. https://newbluefx.com/products/elements/overlay/
What this does is allow you to drag each corner to it's needed position.

you are right and I tried now, but the image degrades unfortunately.

no way, I do this all the time, you can easily zoom 10% without any quality loss as long as the HD clip is in a HD timeline. If you plan to switch timeline to SD, you must render the rotated section with Shift+Q prior to switching to SD, otherwise it will look soft and out of focus

I understand, but now for example I am working with hdv files see attached, how should I set up the project on edius 8 pro?
What resolution, 1440x1080 25p?
Or 1920x1080p?

HDV is 1440x1080 interlaced

so your project setting should be 1440x1080 top field first or 1920x1080 top field first

it depends on what you need to do with the exported file? keep for further future use? give to customer on USB? upload to web? give to a Mac user?
