I agree. I lost RT when I went to large (30 and 24) monitors. Otherwise, the ATI X800 series would be in the system.
Since I work in 1920x1080 with mostly uncompressed files, RT is a thing of the past anyway.

And I get a time out error when I try to change the renderer.

Welcome to the future. Keep in mind though, that Xplode is history. The next version of Edius will not contain Xplode. New effects are in the works and will rely heavily on GPU power.

Also since the 8xxx series is made for DirX 10, if you are using it with XP you have to make sure you are using the latest DirX 9 as it has updated D3D 10 components, sometimes the version shipped with the cards is a older version of DirX 9, the latest redistributable version available from MS is March 08
I'm very sure I did remove everything. Also Since I can run Crysis which is a game that uses DX9 to its limits I'm sure I have the latest DX9 (DX9c -(4.09)
I used the latest drivers from the Nvidia Website for the install.

When you say real time Xplode is this with the blue line above the timeline or does it just play through the effect and leave a red line on top?

Hope someone else has had luck. But Right now the ATI 2600 kicks the 8800 in all areas. Rendering Xplode is 5 to 6 times faster. Also Xplode runs in Realtime.

Also I think all current 8800 cards are G92. (I see that you are getting the GTS I guess this is where the difference can be)

I only had the 8800 in the system at the time of the Test.

Not sure if it is a G92?

Is this a G92 version or the original release?
