Speed Encoder question

When exporting my HQ timeline to m2t files via Speed encoder there is a quality setting drop down box. It defaults to High and I have always left it there. What changes in the encode if you change it to Highest quality setting. I tried setting it to Highest but didn't see any bitrates or information about it change in the info section of the dialog box. Just curious about the difference between High and Highest.

the differenc was not the about the "bitrates" himself
the difference was the "time for more elaborated encode" to the same bitrate

similar to >one or two passencoding result`s<....... the ending up with the same "bitrates"

Correct, it has to do with the amount of analysis done. The ending bitrate is the same.

So is the Highest quality noticably better? I have always used the default setting. Now that I have a quad core encoding shouldn't be too bad. I am taking these m2t files and burning blurays from them so the better I have to start the better the final product will be.

There's no universal answer to this question. The more complex the footage and the lower the encoding bitrate, the more increased analysis will benefit it.
