    No problems with mine.

Might be video card or GDI interface problem.

could you do a small test

      1. highlight a letter and then increase or decrease font size by clicking the up down arrows or by dragging up and down inside the size box

      2. do this for a while and see if the error pops

if not, then I will try another graphics card driver at the sacrifice of losing Xplode RT (I don't use it much so I can live with that)

Okay - will try it out and let you know. But - I did increase a font super big and then decrease it more than once in my recent video edit - and didn't see any problem. Is 10 minutes of that activity (increase and decrease font size) enough time then?

no need to do this for 10 min, 1 min will be plenty to satisfy me

also, while testing, select a word and then click underline, are you able to underline a single word? In my case, I can't, all text within the textbox ends up underlined

Okay - will test that out and let you know. Right now - I am in the field - and don't have access to my editing workstation. Tonight then.

                  Anton,

Underlining - same behavior as yours ... not possible to underline only one word. The entire text box gets underlined. But, I can convert italics on one word.

And I noticed something else very funny too ... If I have a text box ...

"The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog" ...

And I make "Fox" italics'ed - If I turn on Underline, only those words to the right of "Fox" are underlined. In the case above, "The Quick Brown" will not be underlined.

                  BOLD - not working.

Font size up and down - I did that at least 20 rounds and well over a minute - no problems.

                    thanks for testing

hopefully edius5 will bring professional titling that works in a standard windows manner, but hopefully not a quick titler, we don't need that at all, not even for quickies

I concur about the underlining behaviour, although I don't see Tingsern's curious interaction with the italics function, and bold works fine for me. Neither do I have a crash problem when sizing the font up and down. I tried this with Arial, is it font-specific perhaps?

It might be video card specific? Maybe certain functions can't be done through the GDI interface? I don't know.

I did use Arial font to test.

In fact - I don't use underline, italics or bold in my video text. That's why I am completely unaware of this problem until Anton asked me to test this for him.

Can't say I use those functions much either, but I do often play around with the font size. I certainly agree that TM is a quirky piece of software at the best of times and long overdue for replacement. Heck, even the original manufacturers have disowned it!

Because of crashes and quirks, I gave up trying to use TmPro. I use heroglyph, Boris or Ulead Cool Production Studio, which is a very nice and under appreciated little titling program. Any bets that Heroglyph comes bundled with Edius 5?

I often type a url or email as part of a company's contact details, I like to underline a url/email to make them look realistic

GV Australia are sending me a new version (December 2007) of TMPro to test, should get it next week, will post back my test results

I mostly use Arial, let me make a movie of the crash
