    Well as the underwater world can get abit greenish over here from time to time... what does one do?
    Easy... use EDIUS of course.



    Colour correction of underwater video has come along way. Here is an example of 4 x 1440/1080 HDV m2t clips with colour correction added and all 4 tracks slowed down 50%. It was done on a core2QUAD and the quad CPU managed it all in realtime.
    Win 10 pro, Intel Core i7 8700K, ASRock Z370 Extreme 4, 16 GIGs Corsair Vengeance 3000 Ram, Single SATA drives, Nvidia GTX 560.

    Nice job. I have to admit that while it annoys others, colour grading is perhaps my most enjoyable editing task.

    Due in no part to the speed at which it can be done with EDIUS. ;)

    (and you don't even use artificial 'gels' with the layer blend keyers either!)

        I think K means that wags didn't "add tint" to the video to get it back to normal.

          Here is another one I did.


          No Tint
          I used two of the WB filters.
          One to hit the background - green water first and the second to fix up the foreground.

          It's rather nice that you can turn a horrible greenish dirty water clip into something much nicer quick and easy.

              Have you tried the Hoya Fl-W filter for green removal. The FL-W has twice the green removal but less color temperature correction relative to the FL-D.

              I had some footage shot on Pal sent to me that was white balanced on every shot without filters or color correction. It was gorgeous. I had to ask the shooter what he did and what camera he used. They had a lite algae bloom type of day and he white balanced every thing out. Amazed me!
              All I had to do was a PAL to NTSC conversion. Easy!!!

                Jerry I have not used a green one but normally use a URPRO tropical filter to help the camera WB underwater at depth but this this time I went out with no filter as you can also set the camera up even before you get in to get great colour at depth as well. That day the water was greeny peas soup and yes I could of WB it out to make the water more blue but that also changes the colour of the coral as well.

                You also loose a couple fstops with a filter in.

                I left it as is to see how good EDIUS can sort it out as HDV is not very good in dirty water due to the high compression so adding colour with the NLE is hard.
                Thats why I changed to EDIUS as I was doing side by side tests with AspectHD/Prem Pro and Canopus HQ/EDIUS and found Canopus HQ better with CCing.
