  • Apple Laptop question

Would a MacBook Pro with a separate graphics card be much better than a MacBook with an integrated graphics card, for the tasks of video editing?
    Thanks

The biggest pain (for me) with the Apple laptop is the keyboard... missing too many important keys.

The MacBook Pro is Awesome for Edius. I have it running on mine. The MacBook does not have a GPU Graphics card and will not be realtime when using xplode Pro Effects. So to answer your question the MBP is Vastly superiour

MBP's start at $1,500, and MB's start at $1,000...you're better off with the MBP :)

If you ever want to run 'Final Cut Studio' (which you will one day, it's awesome)
you wont be able to as Final Cut Studio is not compatible
with integrated Intel graphics processors as found on the Macbook's.

          Go for the Macbook Pro

....and for only $500 extra too !
(it's a $1,100 difference here & our dollar buy 0.94us, so the rest must be silly Aussie taxes)

The MBP's look good, only missing a Blu-Ray burner.
I guess there will be plenty external ones at decent prices soon enough.
Then DVD authoring software from Edius timeline to go with it, just wishing.
