  • edius pro 4 to Broadcast ordered

having upgraded pro 4.54 to 4.6 and received the expired message I have removed and reinstalled back to 4.54 all is well again...... thankfully.

I have ordered Edius Broadcast upgrade from Pro 4 and wish to know if I am going to get the same problem when I install this later in the week.

I have some footage shot on my EX1 which I am dying to look at and edit ?

The upgrade should pretty much be just a new dongle. So you should stay at the version you are currently running. I suspect that if you received the expired warning now, you would also get it on the Broadcast if you installed the 4.6 update. However it would be great to know if that was true or not.

I get the same message every time I move a drive or dongle. What I do is change the dongle to another usb port and reboot. Every once in a while I get the message cannot find the hasp driver but if I let it sit for a few minutes it finally finds it and all is fine. However, it makes me sweat a little every time it happens. So far everything is running great on all three if my machines that have dongles.

out of curiosity I installed on another PC 4.5 which was working fine, upgraded to 4.6 and boom expiry message with same usb key......

I hope my new usb key does not have same effect for broadcast !

You were right it did not work, using the new USB key and installing 4.6 over the top.
