Size wise it is about 7.8GB as far as I remember...it's not 4.3GBx2.
Not sure if the DVD writer in Edius supports DL discs. I would use Encore for that.

Stormdave is right but if you don't have Encore, you can encode it to a VOB
(procoder express or export to DVD)
save it to a folder and use Nero to burn it. Nero burns DL well.

You Pioneer burner can burn DL.

Yes they play perfect in most DVD players.
I have heard that DVD+R DL it is more compatible than DVD-R DL.
I use Verbatim's DVD+R DL discs and never had a problem.

It seems as if you can, (see picture)

I have used the 'Canopus DVD Creator' off the timeline only twice for 30min videos.
I normally use DVD Studio Pro for my proper menu DVDs.

Looking deeper into it now for you, I see you can burn a DL.

Yes, DL is supported, but as far as I recall, you don't get to control the layer switch.

If I'm picky about a layer switch, I export the disc image (VIDEO_TS folder) and then burn using IMGBurn, which can offer some choices on where to add in the layer change...or at least, preview where it's going to happen.
