  • 16x9 Vs 4:3

I am having some problems, I decided to use 16X9 this year offcially because I figured most folks would have big plasmas even if they dont have BLue-Ray yet. the problem is'nt so much when I edit my footage I shoot 16X9 then I edit in the 16X9 editing mode in Edius the footage looks stretched because I dont have a 16X9 monitor yet but its o.k.. the problem comes when I make titles in AE I have jumpbacks (4:3) which I strectch in AE to match the 16X9 aspect in AE then I export to a AVI in 16X9 but when I bring it into Edius it doesnt match my 16X9 footage the sides are cut off like its 4:3. What do I have set wrong?

As far as I remember, you can export directly from Juicer to a 16x9 1.2 aspect ratio(codec of your choice) and it will look fine. The other option is to import a 4x3 and then right click on the icon in the bin and change the aspect ratio to 1.2 (SD).

Watch out in AE for all of the different settings. D1 and NTSC D1 will give you 720x480 and 720x486, respectively. These two will not cause a problem.
However, NTSC D1 Widescreen square pixel, will give you a weird look in 720x480 1.2.
Try a direct output from Juicer with a 720x480 1.2 aspect ratio either in QT, uncompressed, or HQ.
