Edius Broadcast keeps losing Sony EX1 Clip Brpwser

hmmm...well, I hate to interrupt the thought/theory, but, I just lost the clipbrowser again and didn't ever remove the dongle.

What did I do?
1-I removed an external drive with some edius projects on it and re-installed it.

2-I removed and inserted an SxS card. Dragged the XDCAM BPAV folder to the external drive. Dragged the .mp4 file into the Edius bin and never opened the clip browser. Then I thought to check and it was gone from the TOOLS menu.

At this point, I don't really care. The workflow I now use apparently doesn't require the clip browser.

Ok lets ask if anybody else using EX browser is experiencing this.
Maybe we can shed some light on this issue.

Next time it happens, please try and do something "EDIUS Broadcast" specific - namely, with the EDIUS bin, directly import an EX1 MP4 file. See if EDIUS complains about the format. I want to know if there's an issue between EDIUS and the licenses on your dongle.

I just figured out what's going on. When the Clip Browser installs, it writes a folder and "start" icon in the START MENU/PROGRAMS/SONY/ directory. I keep all of these start buttons in organized subdirectories like VIDEO, AUDIO, SYSTEM, etc.

As soon as I move the "Start Menu/Sony/Clipbrowser" start menu item into the VIDEO sub-directory, Edius loses its link to the clip browser. Apparently, the Edius link is to the START MENU/SONY/clipbrowser directory, rather than the actual Program Files entry. This seems a little silly to me. Rather poor programming.

Or, that it's the less likely of two possibilities? (the other being that the user decides to install the Sony Clip Browser software somewhere else, like another drive/folder path)

At least there's a better chance that the Start menu shortcut won't be changed from its default position.

I thought the MS convention was to reference the path in the registry.
