I had this same problem of audio skipping and Edius would lose 1394 card lock when playing from the timeline or print to tape. This all happened after I updated to 4.6.

Long story short.... after a complete hard drive format and reinstall of just Edius on the system.... I discovered it was happening when I had my USB wireless internet adapter enabled and running in the background. Disabled it and all is well. Usually I keep it disabled.

I had a ton of programs installed and thought the only way of approaching this was to eliminate them and start fresh with just Edius installed. Arrgggh.

I was even having problems with music skipping and stuttering in Windows Media Player. I was initially running V4.54 but upgraded to 4.6 to see if it may possibly fix the problem. I was having the problem with both version.

Just curious....what wireless adapter do you have as I did have one plugged in. I have already RMA'ed the Motherboard and ordered a different one so it really is a moot point at this time but it will be good to know just in case the new one has the same issue.

Once I opened this same project up on my older AMD x2 system it played fine with no problems....other than not have the power of a C2Q.

Phillip, yes my audio was skipping in windows media and a music program I use (Sonic Fire Pro4) as well. I am using a Buffalo Wireless-N Nfiniti USB 2.0 adapter.
