  • EX-1 files in 4.6

My 4.6 install is complete and seems to be working. When I go to "Help" it tells me I have version 4.6. The problem is I can't drag an EX-1 clip into the clip bin. If I go into the EX-1 clip and extract the mpg4 file, I can drop the mpg4 into the bin with no problem. I thought the 4.6 issue would recognize EX-1 native files.
If anyone with an EX-1 has time, I would love to compare notes.

Ex-1 wants Edius 4.6 Broadcast (and not "Pro").

Do you have EDIUS Broadcast 4.6? As has been noted in other forums, EDIUS Pro 4.6 will not support any XDCAM codec, including the EX-1.

At the top of the Edius bin in the tools drop down menu, choose XDCAM clip software (acts as a plug-in) the Sony program will open, goto the HD with the BPAV folders and when they open, select the clips you need and drag them over to the Edius bin.

Read this thread. I had the same questions. Installing the SONY software will do it.

I have tried everything that has been suggested and nothing works. The problem seems to be with Sony and the file conversion. I'm going to do a re-install of the browser and look at the drivers.

            Thanks all

Yup. I installed the card and Broadcast software and then upgraded to 4.6. I will have the chance to play with the system later today.

Well, I don't have a clue but it is finally working after a fresh install of everything. I am going to let this sleeping dog alone and try to get some editing done......whoopee!
