NX Express has an onboard MPEG2/MPEG4 (Not H264) SD encoder...also both of the boards (NX and Component/Firecoder card) are in PCIexpress form.

They are still selling NX HDV output boards in PCI form, I believe...if you have a recent computer with at least 2 PCIe slots (not counting the graphics card slot) then go with the NX Express. The NX Bay is option by the way.

Neither is better, they are all the same except NX Express has the SD hardware encoders, which I have not even used once to this day.

The 16x boards have clips that "snap" them into place so they won't get out ;)

Either way the NX boards are all PCIe 1x so they won't "flap" in the wind.

on my NX system, I can make mine flap by just blowing on it, there is no card edge support on the back which is really needed to avoid connector micro corrosion

on my SP system, my SP card sits rock solid, not even the wind from a compressor air gun will move it

You shouldn't tighten the bracket's screw that much anyway, so the end will pop up.

On the Mac Pro, there are no screws, just one large bracket which holds all PCIe slots...All of my slots are full and none of the PCIe cards (4) have moved an inch.

I agree with Anton, this is the first PCIe design that not uses the full lenght of the mobo slot, this is a VERY BAD mechanical design !
If i knew this before I bought it, I would have gone for the PCI version.

Anyways, geekiness aside, I've never had problems with PCIe. Maybe you guys are putting your cases upside down, I have no clue...never had a problem here.

Maybe you guys want to go back to ISA? :D

Yes, easily. Very good setup.

Also in the other thread someone mentioned that he/she has no problems with the 680i chipset, so you're good to go...but no guarantees :)
If it's finicky, you can just get a new Intel chipset based mobo ($~150 for a very good ASUS mobo)

Uhh PCIExpress is better.

The bus maximum throughout is better- the card/s in question are no different in performance so the PCI-X is better because it is better seated.

Hi guys.
I have the supermicro MOB. there 're 2 video slots option and other slots,
I place the Edius card on the top of the MOB. Which mean top slo, and other cards down to bottom./ Like this.
1-Graphic slot - Edius card
2- component card
3-Graphic card
4-empty. (because graphic card too big. It coer down)
5-controller card for SATA raid
6-empty.

I place Edius card on top instead, because if I place the graphic card on top than It cover the NXE slot.

It' s been working good!
do you think It is OK to leave It like that?

I rather have the graphic card on top , But It 's too big and cover other slot, I have no more room for Edius card.
