Hi All. I never use EA before Please help me!
I installed AE. cs3 to work with Edius, But how do I load to see EA. to edit.
And when you work in EA. what format can I export for Edius to work?
    thank you.

By EA you mean AE right? Cool. AE is not for video editing. You edit all your stuff in Edius, and when you want to add something special that edius can't do (like motion tracking or custom mattes for example), you export your clip as a Canopus HQ AVI, or Canopus Lossless AVI.

Next step is to go to CreativeCow.net and learn After Effects :) Its worth learning.
When I go out, I wear my EDIUS T-Shirt.

You can export back to HQ if Edius and AE are on the same system.

You have to pick Video for Windows and Canopus HQ/Lossless/DV codecs will show up.

You should read the help files in After Effects and figure out the correct way to export from the render queue, the program is too complex to understand when you first start using it.

                Thanks for both of you.
                Some question.
When I export from EA., do I loose Quality?
Can I load EA. up while Edius still on desktop? Or I have to close Edius.

Depends on what codec you use. AE can go upto 32bit workspace wise (depending on the plugin) but that's not really needed in your situation. If you go Canopus Lossless, you won't lose quality. Canopus HQ is a good codec, but lossy...but you will not see a difference between this codec and an uncompressed codec unless you really pay attention to it. I don't recommend Canopus DV because it uses a 4:1:1 color space, so always stick with HQ (Online setting) or Lossless.

If you have the video out plugin for the GV hardware in AE, then there will be problems if you have EDIUS and AE open at the same time...it's best to finish in AE, render out, close it down and launch EDIUS again and load your rendered comps in there.

                      No problem :)

There are alot of AE tutorials out there, some free some you have to pay for.

Just remember that whatever you put in AE, it will spit back out to the quality of your codec...if you put in low quality video footage in AE, you will get the same quality output even if you use Uncompressed...but if you're only doing graphics (Photos, titles, etc) with no video footage, then expect very good quality outputs. For field order make sure you use "DV Settings" for lower fields first under NTSC.

                        OK, thks Stormdave.
It looks very hard to work on because I am new.
Edius, I am OK for myseft. But EA.
Look like I cannot place transition on timeline like Edius Right? and
Is there any transition that I can use for Edius?

AE is a compositing, not an NLE. Two completely different applications. NLE's are much simpler than compositing applications.

Once you learn the basics of AE you will understand that there is no way to have transitions in between layers like you do in NLE's. We use plugins (filters) and the controls such as opacity, size, rotation, etc. to change a layers properties.

As for transitions in EDIUS, there are plenty...Boris, proDAD, Xplode Pro 4.6 (Included in the 4.6 ISO for free).
