I followed forum advice and purchased a Lacie eSata adapter and two large drives. Now, I need to buy an enclosure and there are just too many to pick from. I did order one for $180.00 and it was junk. I want an external enclosure that holds two to four drives and runs cool and quiet. Any suggestions?

Hello Dan: The last time I was in Atlanta I saw an enclosure at Fries that looked like a small computer case complete with fan and power supply called I believe a "stacker Case".
Both my latest workstations have internal raids. The latest one I bought from Guy Electronics and I am really pleased with it. You might give him a call and see what he suggests. The raid in the workstation that he built for me is accessible from the front of the computer. That way you can remove a drive or update the drives to larger ones without going inside the computer.
give me a call sometime.... my numbers are still valid.... if you have misplaced them PM me and I will give them to you.
Take care

sorry..... you are right.... Some times I have trouble walking up stairs and chewing gum at the same time.....much less giving out the right web address.
It always seemed strange Ashley's name to me. I always get confused witch way it is. Is it Guy Ashley or Ashely Guy. I guess the problem for me is that my Grandfather's first name was Guy and I am used to that name being a first name.
All I know is that the machine he made for me with all the Edius/Grassvalley software installed on it is a winner. It has been running so solidly that I am afraid to upgrade it. At the present it is running 4.5 and my other machine is running 4.54. I ordered a disk from Canopus sales for the 4.6 upgrade after reading all the problems with the down loads. Also when I tried to down load 4.6 it took over 2 hours.
BTW Pat I sent you a disk with the EX files on it for testing.... Let me know what you find out.
Thanks
RonnieRonnie Martin
