  • Flash Export

    Hi

I'm running Edius 4.03 Broadcast with Flash 8, every time I try to export an flv file I get an Edius crash - "flvwriter.exe has encountered a problem" then a failed to export enspecified error.

I just tested the same on my laptop with Edius 4.24 and Flash 8 - no problems.

Does anyone know if this was an issue with 4.03 that was fixed in the 4.24 update or might it be connected with the NX card on the 4.03 machine

Thanks for any help with this

    Paul

here is what to do to get the greatest results

    export timeline to CanopusHQ

open your flash encoder from Flash8, load the CanopusHQ file, and go to advanced settings and specify a desired size such as 480x360 (4:3) or 480x270 (16:9), you may also do some cropping if needed

    the result looks great

Thanks Anton - this is better quality indeed, now having two little problems - the flash player doesn't recognise the aspect ratio flag - maybe its the old Canopus codec thing again.

and, I can't get the movie to wait until i ask it to play - it just auto starts on download (set in Flash 8 as progressive download) any thoughts?

      you're up late?

There is no aspect ratio flag in the HQ file. Try exporting a QT movie file with 16:9 set.

sorry, I meant to type to export to dv avi using the microsoft codec (little box to tick)

the rest is easy in www.videoproductions.com.au/edius4/flv.jpg

go to settings and you can size and crop and there are many templates for player control, such as below the movie or at the bottom of the movie semi transparent etc....

Thanks guys - all sorted - a bit of finger trouble with Flash 8 Pro - the ON2VP6 encoding is really high quality compared to ye olde spark!

                muchas gracias
