  • Different 4.6 problem

I just built a new computer and happened to be installing the software on the day 4.6 was released! I dunno if this matters but I bought 2.6 and have bought upgrades since then.

It downloaded and installed fine. And even opened fine. Great. No, not so great. I can't add clips to the bin. Edius crashes when you attempt to add clips to bin.

Am I the only one with this problem?

I captured using the mpeg capture program on this computer. I could not import the HQ clips created by mpeg capture.

are you capturing from a HDV camera or similar? if so, you can capture direct from within Edius, no need to use mpeg capture

btw, there is a newer version of mpeg capture in the download area, maybe yours is older and does not work with Edius 4.6

Yeah, I am using the new MPEG capture--downloaded at the same time as 4.6. You can capture and convert HDV from Edius? I'll have to figure that out. New to HDV but not Edius (obviously).

But I will need to import stuff to the bin. That's kinda important. I'll try to reinstall--see if that helps.

          thanks,

It seems that you are the only one, at the moment with this... could you try uninstalling EDIUS, re-booting, then installing again to see if there was a hiccup in the install somewhere?

              thanks,
go to the capture menu and click Generic HDV inpuit, then set 1440x1080 NTSC or PAL HQ as required and then capture

                Joy! Love it!

OK, uninstalled. Turned the computer OFF for a while. Reinstalled. Turned computer off. Started Edius. No luck. Can't import to bin. The second time, I can't even open the 'import' window. Third time it crashes when it is done opening with out me touching anything!

Reboot. Try again. I can capture video and edit. And yes, I can add clips to bin.

Close Edius. Open Edius. I CAN add clips to the bin. Problem with an uninitiialized database?

Problem seems to have gone away. Be sure I'll let someone know if that changes.
