Ive just come back from shooting a show ...SD
Just wanted to know what other people do for audio in this situation.
The shoot was done with 2 cameras so the main camera had the engineers desk run int both channels [one slightly attenuated below the other].

The second camera just picked up the left and right channels from the on board mic just to get ambient sound[Audience applause etc.]

So Im now capturing the footage into edius broadcast ver.4.54 and will be editing most of this footage in the multicam mode.

what would be best for laying down this audio bearing in mind I still get myself confused with channel mapping within Edius.

Thanks for your advise in advance

If the mapping confuses you then it is easy to do manually. Lay each camera in a VA track, then copy the audio and drop it into an Audio track. I would put Cam 1 into Audio 1 & 2, and then
Cam 2 into Audio 3 & 4. Rt clk on the audio and set one of the audios to mono 1 and do the same to the other audio and select mono 2 (do these two steps for each cam audio). Delete audio in VA tracks. YOu should now have 4 tracks of mono audio which is what you shot. Of course this is a few more steps than if you used mapping but no big deal.
