Thanks Anton, I'm off out for tapas breakfast now, I'll check this out and report back, meanwhile, I'll download the 4.6 update again, and try a new install, something is odd with this one I have, even showing strange behaviour on the laptop.

Hi Anton, I set up explode pro as I "think" it should be but no joy - I guess I need a guide here, if I set xplode renderer to nvidia direct 3d T&L HAL, I get blue screen at xplode transition, true for any form of renderer on the list, must be missing something or the 8800gt is not supported.

      thanks

I have not tried the 8800

make sure the dll (D3D7NV.DLL) copied itself in the Stages folder of Explode Pro 4.5

be sure you start the Xplode Pro config tool found in Xplode Pro folder and not the Xplode Edius config tool

I am using Edius from version 1.1 and have learned from past updates who went very wrong.

I have multiple boot HD's with XP and Edius safely in my drawer, always with previous versions on it, they won't get me with my pants down .................

            Anyway good advice, thanks.

Thanks Anton for the "ATInVidiaXPRO45" it works as a charm with ATI 2600 Pro at Home, but strangely with the Office rig using an old FX 5600 it doesn't !

you need to download an archieved nvidea driver version 61.77

then it will work with the FX 5600

From my experience of EDIUS upgrade, the part that upgrades the device drivers on my system (WinXP Pro 32) - never replaces the device drivers correctly. I have to do that manually each time. I have NO idea why.

How did I know it didn't replace the older device drivers? Go to the subdirectory containing the drivers (Canopus shared ..... and also WIN32) - and clicked on the properties ... the version numbers. If the upgrade goes through okay, the version numbers will be the same as the distribution copy. In my case, the ones that are in Canopus shared subdirectory are ALWAYS the old ones, even after the upgrade is finished.

Now - I just manually copy the drivers over ... reboot the PC and - no problems after that.

Of course, not. 2600 is very low card, (128 bit cheap memory) it is mostly for office computers, yes, it will run some transitions in real time. Try filters and you will see the difference. Xplode will not work in HD and it has nothing to do with video card.

I have no Expansion card so I can not comment for HDV, SD works RT.

                            Edit: Filters and all

Thanks mike for the info, never knew that office computers had dual dvi 512mb cards.

Running 4.6, here. Some funny things going on with my display. I'm pretty sure they're related to ATI videocard. Also running with a nVidia card on my laptop, no problem at all.

                                trial explodes

I see there are issues with 4.6. When I tried to install the trial version, after I enter name and all the install starts its thing and then boom....computer BSOD and reboots. I tried 4 times last night, redownloaded twice, same thing.

Kindof a bummer as trial user I already have lost faith here, honestly when the code is so out of line it causes a BSOD you have to wonder....we're not even running anything yet.

To check system stability I left LW open running a looping preview, I left a web page with flash running, Quicktime with some jumpbacks going and Sony Vegas looping a preview....evry drive and pipe should have been in use....and yep still going this AM.
