If your system corrupts files during transfers to or from an external drive connected via USB, I wouldn't trust ANYTHING kept on the drive. Given that most people use external drives to archive projects and make backups, any data corruption is unacceptable and should not be written off lightly.

Are you using an external USB drive? On a few occasions, I have had errors when unzipping on an external drive. I don't know why, but when I copied the files to my C or internal E drive, it worked fine.

    Hi,

If necessary, you can download the zip file again, or I think you can try an utility called Advanced Zip Repair to repair your Zip file. It works rather well for my corrupt Zip files.

Here is the SFV file (CRC-32 checksum) for the EDIUS v4.6 update ZIP archive.

Use any SFV checker app (like QuickSFV for example) to check your download is complete and correct.

Well past that stage according to Tech Support. Besides, my working Edius only runs on Win XP Pro SP2. It's only CS3 that I have running beautifully on Vista x64.
And the dongle works fine with v4.5.4. If there's a problem in that area it has to be with the v4.6 update. Nothing else has changed.

It's likely the dongle incompatibility with Windows Vista 64 bit that I believe you are using.

    Me too, Barry. Twice.
Downloaded again today. On the original download two of the three CAB files were crook.
But even when I installed the latest download I got the "expired" message.
The first time I couldn't unload and had to resort to the registry (through Support) but the second time the unload was successful and I'm back with v4.5.4.

No problems with WinZip 9.0 SR-1.

I never upgraded to 10.0 or later because the company decided not to honor its perpetual license obligations.

    Hi,
I tried what you said but the zip file still gets 'unzipped' and the crc errors remain.

Unless I am missing something, either way the files have to be unzipped and any errors will show whatever way it is done.

you don't need to unrar it....
click on the .exe and it unpacts in your c:\Edius 4.6 dir
From there you can install it

    Hi Editpoint
Many thanks for PM - reply sent.

I have today downloaded 2 more copies of the 4.6 download - both had corrupt files in them so I have now given up on downloading and will be obtaining a copy on CD

    Regards
    Keith
