    Today is the day that it is no longer a rumor.

    Toshiba has announced that it will cease making or marketing HD-DVD.

      Blue Ray Wins

      As I said before, look at sales figures and you may draw the conclusion that the war isn't quite over yet! Read what Mr. Sweeting says about all of it.

          Especially telling was the fact that Toshiba never produced their promised internal HD-DVD burners for workstations, that were announced almost 18 months ago. That failure was an early indicator that Blu-Ray had won.

            A war is over once one of the combatants packs up and goes home. The president of Toshiba has confirmed that they are abandoning HD DVD.

              Let's hope that ll players in the digital media business now move some attention to Blu-ray and the needs of their customers.... hint hint.
