Edius unstable

Edius bombs out continuously and "saves" the errors in a text file which contains name appcompat.txt. It became even more unstable since I opened a new sequence in the same project. Disolves are not realtime either.
Could it be a cseuvec.dll problem? I say that because that name comes up everytime I get an error. I can't encode HDV to mpeg. Errors halfway through encoding. Error signature says:
AppName: Edius.exe AppVer: 4.50.0.62 (although it is 4.54) ModName: cseuvec.dll ModVer: 1.11.0.1 Offset: 00008fe4

Please help.

4.6 is upgrade is up (install it) and then if the problem is still there we can try to sort it out.

Thanks Steve. Can't express my gratitude enough. The only issue I still have is that dissolves does not play in realtime. Even after rendering, it says Playback stopped and you have to re-render.

Any Ideas?

That is real strange . My note book does HD 1920x1080 Infinity clips in real time.

Can you provide:
1 system specs
2 Project settings
3 what are the clips?.

If I have that info I can continue to help :)

PS if you have native HDV clips and your system is a bit underpowered it is better to convert them to Canopus HQ to gain realtime performance

1 install the latest chipset drivers from intel for your mother board

2 Use a 1440X1080 preset so edius does not have to upscale.

Are the clips native Hdv or canopus HQ?

It might be your video card -- the 6600 seems to cause problems:

The clips I am currently working with are Canopus HQ. When I download from the HDD I suppose it will be native. Instead of always, I only sometimes get a "Playback Stopped" and then it is when the clip on the timeline is played from the beginning of a new transition.
What would you recommend I should replace the 6600 with?

The PC is not connected to the internet and an automatic upgrade is not possible. Being a layman, I have difficulty in locating the correct chipset drivers. Here is the information regarding my system. If you can guide me, it will be appreciated.

Let's take a step back first.
1. When did it start doing this, or has it done this since you put in Edius the first time?
2. If it started recently, what, if anything did you install into the computer besides Edius?
3. Are you using a dedicated video drive or are you capturing to your C: drive?
4. How long ago was WinXP installed? Have you, or anyone, changed anything regarding the setup of XP?

5. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Edius(after reboot)?

If this was happening to me, I would go back to formula by reinstalling everything. I know that sounds drastic, but it usually fixes things.
